UPDF 333 Mountain Brigade Headquarters in Kabarole Commissioned
Uganda People’s Defence Force (UPDF) has commissioned a 33mountain bridgade in Kamyomya, Kabarole district.
Mountain division Muhooti Military barracks commander, Brig. Moses Kwikiriza said the place where the 333 Brigade has been settled from Kagadi used to be a hideout for Allied Democratic forces which was a threat in the area.
Kwikiriza added that giving this land to UPDF is one of the strategies to fight the ADF.
The function was graced by the Chief of Defence force, Gen. David Muhoozi who was requested to negotiate for more land in Karuguto Ntoroko.
Kwikiriza explaining his request said 111 Mountain Brigade is congested and therefore unable to host both the brigade and Mountain division headquarters.
He noted that there is also need for schools for the soldier’s children and health centers.
The commissioned 333 Mountain Brrigade sits on 1638 hectares of land has several facilities such as a health cetre 111, commandant’s house, administration office block and pumped filtered water.
