Uganda New Airbus Expected to Boost Tourism
Uganda’s new airbus A330-800neo is expected to boost tourism industry and export led strategy.
Speaking at the receiving ceremony yesterday, the Prime Minister Ruhakana Rugunda said Uganda’s new flight destinations will offer key markets for its tourism and exports.
He explained that absence of direct flights has always been a big hindrance to Uganda’s international tourists and business community.
“NRM Government is implementing an export-led growth strategy and the great cargo capabilities of the Airbus A330neo is a big boost for our export aspiration.” Ruhakana said.
Uganda Airline is expected this year to open more regional routes in Goma DRC Congo, Johannesburg in South Africa, Lusaka, Harare, Kigali in Rwanda.
In attendance were Finance Minister Matia Kasaija, works minister Gen. Katumba Wamala and his predecessor, Eng.Monica Azuba, Cornwell Muleya, the Uganda Airlines Chief Executive Officer and Mufti Sheikh Ramadhan Mubajje.
