Pres. Museveni defends Investors in Gulu.
Over the weekend 23rd to 25th, the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, met and urged all NRM winners and losers of Party primaries who are now contesting as independents in the districts of Isingiro, Rwampara and Ntugamo to reconcile and unite for the good of the party.
Rugunda explained that a divided house cannot stand so it’s better for the members that lost, to support flag bearers as the party position in the General Elections 2021.
He added that in situations where there is no agreement even after the work of the tribunal disputes, members should focus on what unites the party and vote for the Party President, H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni to be able to beat opposition.
The Primaries in Isingiro, Rwampara and Ntugamo districts like many other districts especially for Members of Parliament, reported a lot of Election irregularities including bribery, vote rigging, intimidation leading to most of the candidates that lost petitioning.
Following the complaints, the Party Chairperson, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, set a dispute tribunal to look into the complaints however after the verdict, some of the members that also lost their cases, decided to contest as independents, a situation that has raised great concern from the party leaders.
