Presidential Aspirants to Undergo Covid-19 Test Before Nomination
Electoral Commission (EC) has said all Presidential Aspirants must present COVID 19 negative results together with their nine people, a test taken within 72 hours.
EC chairperson, Simon Byamakama said this is intended to help the Candidates and to ensure a safe nomination exercise.
“A candidate who tests positive will be nominated in absentia provided the nominator and the seconder are present” Byamukama noted.
Nominations are scheduled for November 2 to 3rd at 9:00am to 5:00pm at Kyambogo University.
According to EC guidelines, aspirants will only use three vehicles and each vehicle shouldn’t carry more than four people.
Byamukama however noted that President Museveni will shall use such facilities as ordinarily attached to his office in line with section 27(2) of the Presidential Act.
