President Museveni Urges New Parliament to prioritise Govt Programmes
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has urged new sworn-in parliamentarians to prioritize government’s programs like infrastructural development.
Mr. Museveni was addressing the House after the inauguration of the new speaker of Parliament who is also the Ooro county MP, Jacob Oulanyah and the Bukedea MP, Betty Omongi who was elected deputy speaker on Monday.
The president told legislators that the government is committed to fight corruption and it would use soldiers to make this very effective.
He encouraged them to support wealth creation programs noting that even if the program has supported only 900000 since its inception, it aims at helping over 2million people per year.
The president emphasised that this term would be for social-economic transformation and encouraged the house to budget well.
