“We want to thank him for his talented service at the Uganda Cranes and we hope that Parliament at an opportune time will hold a special sitting in honor of our national goalkeeper Dennis Masinde Onyango,” Kadaga said at the opening of a Parliament sitting yesterday.

Last week the Cranes captain Onyango in a letter to the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA), announced that he was retiring from international football and goal-keeping for his home side.

“It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing my retirement from international football. After much consideration, my family, managers and I, decided it was in my best interest to hang my gloves on my beloved Cranes Flag of Uganda Big thanks to every Ugandan over the years,” he wrote.
