Over 50 People arrested by UPDF and Police in a Kampala Security Operation
Over 50 people have been arrested by UPDF and Police in various stations following a joint security operation conducted in Kampala yesterday.
The Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said most of these people are suspected criminals known for snatching phones and other valuables.
He noted that the operation was conducted around busy areas including Wilson Road, William Street, Burton street, Johnston Street and Arua Park.
Some of the military raids were conducted inside Mutaasa Kafeero shopping arcade.
Police said besides phone snatching the suspects are also being accused of abusing drugs.
Another operation was made to reduce congestion in the central business district, Kampala and several illegal vendors were arrested.
