Museveni to Increase Cattle Compensation Budget

The Chairman of the ruling party, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has pledged to increase the cattle compensation budget to Shs 50 billion per sub-region.

He made this remarks on his second day of campaigns in Lango sub region yesterday where he interacted with NRM party leaders in Apac District.

Museveni said that the Government is also set to upgrade the Rwenkunye-Apac-Lira-Puranga-Acholibur Road, the length of 191 km and add Zengebe-Namasale Ferry.

He encouraged the public to shift from subsistence farming to commercial farming so as to improve household income, and fight poverty.

“Operation Wealth Creation has given and will continue to give farmers inputs to help in this drive.” Museveni noted.

Museveni added that the roads in Lango will be fixed and maintained, widened, and strengthened, citing the Tororo-Mbale-Soroti-Lira-Kamdini and Rwenkunyu road.
