Museveni Donates Six Tractors And Shs 300m, To Uganda Martyrs Cathedral Of Lira Diocese
H.E Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni commissioned Uganda Martyrs Cathedral of Lira Diocese, a function on which the Cathedral marked 50years of existence.
Speaking at the function yesterday, The President appreciated Archbishop John Baptist Odama for the critical push among the people to create wealth through cassava growing for commercial purposes and all other clergy involved in the wealth creation drives, saying it’s a true reflection of walking in Jesus’ footsteps.
He applauded the Christians for advancing the push towards renovating the church, with the outsiders, only lending a hand.
Museveni showed his support to the church efforts with a donation of six tractors to support its work which he said the diocese can rent at an affordable cost to farmers.
“I will also contribute Shs300m for construction of the bishop’s house, 5,600 iron sheets to priests while the women’s guild will get a vehicle.” He added.
Museveni congratulated the church and the people upon peace and freedom of worship as one of the liberties enjoyed in Uganda at 50 years minus restriction.
