KCCA Sets 31st Dec As the Deadline for Taxis, Buses and Coasters
Kampala City Council Authority has set 31st December as the deadline for the commuter taxis, buses, mini buses, coasters and special hire vehicles registration for route charts and payment of park user fees.
In a public notice KCCA notified operators that all the commercial vehicles in Kampala will not be allowed to operate in the city without being registered.
“KCCA reminds owners and operators of taxis, buses, coasters and special hire vehicles to visit our division offices at Central, Kawempe, Rubaga, Makindye and Nakawa to register and acquire a permanent route chart and to pay the relevant park fees by January 1, 2021.” The notice published yesterday read.
Each vehicle owner is required to avail proof of payment of park user fees, photocopies of two personal identification documents, a vehicle logbook and driving permit for the driver.
Special hire vehicles are required to provide a valid car rental sticker while buses and taxis are required to provide Passenger Service Vehicle (PSV) stickers for purposes of acquiring a route chart.
