Katumba Denied Access to Kyenjonjo, promises 2m Salary to Police Officers
According to the Electoral Commission – EC campaign program, Katumba was supposed to start campaigning in Tooro Sub-region by holding rallies in Kyenjojo and Kyegegwa districts.
However, Katumba was denied access by Kyenjonjo police on grounds that he hadn’t booked any venue for his campaign according to Kyenjojo DPC Julius Bagaza.
Speaking to Nettech Media after denial, Katumba said he would revive cooperatives and build more industries to create jobs for the youth in Kyenjonjo.
“Immediately I reached Kyenjonjo, people told me that they need health facilities and if I am elected as the next president, I will build many health units in districts and equip them with medicine.” Katumba pledged on phone.
Katumba blamed Electoral commission for not organizing a free and fair election, “This election is a shame to our country. If the EC knew that it was not ready to organize this election, why did it go ahead to organize it.”
In Kyegengwa, Katumba promised to build a university in the area and improve the welfare of police officers with at least 2m salary per month.
