Guinea President Praises Uganda’s Livestock Sector
Guinea President, Alpha Conde has hailed Uganda’s livestock sector saying it’s one of the best he has seen in Africa.
Conde was on a tour at the National Agricultural Research Organizations’ (NARO), National Livestock Resources Research Institute (NaLIRRI).
During the visit, President Conde was told that Ugandan scientists are in advanced stages of animal disease management for some of the most prevalent diseases such as foot-and0mouth disease, ticks and African swine fever.
The development of an anti-tick vaccine is in advanced stages and NARO intends to roll out the vaccine for validation by farmers in September.
Conde said he would send his scientists to Uganda to learn more within a month, thereby activating the collaboration between the two countries through their respective ministries of agriculture.
The head of state was in Uganda to witness the inauguration of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for his next term (2021-2026).
