Govt Sets June as Deadline for Budget changes

The Finance Ministry has set June as the deadline for all Ministries, Agencies and Departments to re-align their votes to budget changes that were recommended on May 7th by law makers.

The deputy secretary to the treasury of the Finance Ministry, Patrick Ocailap, said salary structures for proposed vacant positions in the government must also handed in before june 2, 2021.

On May 7, MPs approved the sh44.7trillion budget for the 2021/2022 financial year, posting a decrease of sh714b from the earlier budget estimates.
MPs attributed the sh714b drop on the project decrease in eternal financing to about sh 2.4b.

The sh44.7b budget will be 76.7% financed by domestic revenue and 23.3% through external revenue.

Lawmakers also directed thst sh200b be drawn from the petroleum fund to specifically finance oil road infrastructure.
