Gov.t delivers 300,000 mosquito nets in Luweero.
Gov.t through the Ministry of Health has delivered 390,000 long lasting treated mosquito nets. The nets will be distributed 232,953 households in Luweero District. This comes at a time when Luweero District is struggling with a surge in malaria cases. Last year the district registered 40 deaths and another 221,910 people were diagnosed with malaria during the same year. During the Handover of the Mosquito nets to the Luweero to the Luweero district Officials on Tuesday, the Luweero District health officer, Dr Innocent Nkonwa attributed the surge in malaria cases to areas where residents have remained complacent despite being sensitized to use mosquito nets by health workers.
