Electoral commissions Invests in Trucks for Voter Education
Electoral Commission (EC) flagged off 15trucks and two double decker buses to help in sensitizing voters on electoral processes.
EC head of voter education, Charles Mashate told Nettech Media that one of the objectives of the voter education drive is to ensure that they achieve a high turn up in the forthcoming general election.
Trucks and busses are hired from various private firms such as Balaam Marketing and Promotions Agency, Impact Associates, Digida Mobile Media and Events and Strategic Friends according to Mashate.
Mashate said the sensitization drive will involve educating Ugandans on the electoral laws, regulations and the COVID-19 standard operating procedures which they are required to follow strictly.
In addition to this initiative, the Citizens Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU), which is one of those that were accredited to do voter education is planning to begin next week on Tuesday with the launch of the UN women fund that was given.
