DODOVIKO MWANJE CHARGED AFRESH WITH SHS 850M
Dodoviko Mwanje, a businessman alleged to have been behind the demolition of St Peter’s Church has been charged freshly with stealing assorted items of the church valued at approximately sh850m.
Meanwhile, the co-accused face new charges of abuse of office, corruption, negligent act likely to spread infection of disease and disobeying of lawful orders.
Wednesday (December 9, 2020), Makindye Court Grade One Magistrate Judge Okumu transferred the case file of Dodoviko Mwanje and 19 others to the Anti-Corruption Court, following a request from Chief State Attorney Noah Kunya.
“I extend the bail application of the accused and direct them to appear before the Anti-Corruption Court for purposes of plea taking in this matter,” Okumu ordered.
They are expected in court on December 14th.
Other accused persons include Rashid Agero, 59, the Field Force Unit (FFU) commander Kampala Metropolitan area, SP Martin Odero, the FFU Kampala Metropolitan South zonal commander, ASP Isabirye Kaloli, 33, attached to FFU, Katwe, AIP Anthony Kiro, and CPL Richard Kasule.
Others are Ivan Katongole, the KCCA Urban Planner, Richard Naika, the KCCA civil engineer, Ali Mukwaya, the Muganada Gombolola Internal Security Officer, Ali Bulega, Badiru Ssekitto, Hamza Kiberu, Abas Mutebi, Ali Kalika, Simon Matovu, James Kisirinya, Bashir Muruti, Andrew Mujuzi, Bbosa Muniru and Muhammad Kawooya.
