Doctors Ask Govt For Pre-Christmas Lockdown
Doctors under their association have called upon government to re-institute another national lockdown as a means to curb the spread of COVID-19 during the Christmas holidays.
Uganda Medical Association want government to implement a short period lockdown to block people from travelling upcountry for the festive season in fear that the huge numbers upcountry will escalate the COVID-19 cases.
Doctors want the government to institute a lockdown a few days to Christmas that will then be lifted later in January next year.
The doctors’ plea is similar to that made by the ministry of Health and some politicians last week.
