Brig.Gen. Don Nabasa Assumes Office as New Uganda Contingent Commander in Somalia
Brig. Gen. Don William Nabasa, the new Contingent Commander of the Ugandan troops deployed in Somalia under the African Union Mission in Somalia has assumed office.
Yesterday, Nabasa officially assumed office as the Sector one Commander at a function presided over by Lt. Gen. Peter Elwelu, the UPF Commander of Land Forces in the Somali capital, Mogadishu.
He succeeds Brig. Gen. Richard Otto, who has served as the Contingent Commander for the last one year, and has completed his tour of duty.
Nabasa was in August appointed the new Contingent Commander for UPDF in Somalia after completing a one- year training course at the National Defense College, China to succeed Brig. Richard Otto who was deployed as the new Deputy Commander for the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), the army’s intelligence wing.
