7000 Students Get Shortlisted for Government Scholarships
Government has released a list of about 7000 students on scholarship in various programs in technical and vocational institutions in the country.
These students are senior six leavers which were admitted through the joint Admissions Board.
Among these scholarships, Wakiso leads with the highest number of beneficiaries 683 students, followed by Kampala with 378 students, Mukono 245, Mbarara 188, Ntugamo 181, Masaka 175, Bushenyi 149 and Luwero 136.
Others in the top list are Mityana with 126, Jinja 120, Rukungiri 113 and Mpingi 109.
The selected students will be admitted to different public colleges. Each college receives close to 200 students depending on the capacity.
